Mission Matters

Investment in Mission

Mission Impact Fund I

The purpose of the Mission Impact Fund I is to allocate financial resources to be used in supporting I Will Go initiatives with special preference to those being administered by local churches. • needs of, their communities in new and innovative ways

  • Invest in the frontline mission of local churches

  • Impact the world for Christ one community at a time

Mission Impact Fund II

The purpose of the Mission Impact Fund II is to allocate financial resources to be used in supporting World Divisions and Attached Entities that implement a territory-wide evangelism initiative in 2024, 2025, 2026 or 2027. By providing support to World Divisions that submit a comprehensive plan involving their Unions, Local Conferences and Local Churches, it expresses the intent of the General Conference to:

  • Inspire church entities and church members to be

  • involved in a territory-wide evangelistic initiative

  • Invest financial and technological resources to reach

  • persons with a message of hope and salvation

  • Impact the Kingdom of God with a great harvest of

  • souls who in turn become active disciples of Jesus Christ

Innovation in Mission

In a digital age where mobile devices seem to light up across the globe, the General Conference has launched its visionary Digital Strategy for Mission to advance and accelerate proclaiming the eternal gospel of Jesus Christ.

Adventist.org is a groundbreaking initiative to collaborate with the 13 world divisions to locally contextualize Adventist.org. This effort began with the North American Division and will rapidly expand to other divisions in the new quinquennium. The objective is to transform Adventist.org from a corporate website into a vital evangelistic resource with content that is readily available to seekers worldwide and tailored to their local languages and cultures.

Social Media is being leveraged for the purpose of attracting people to Jesus Christ. The objective isto meet people where they are today—online—and introduce them to Jesus Christ. Through various social media platforms, the worldwide Adventist Church has created a vibrant online community where millions of seekers—those curious about our faith in Jesus —can explore the teachings and values of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. Today, content is published on our channels in four languages: English, Spanish, Portuguese, and French. This digital outreach is not just about sharing uplifting content online; it is about building relationships that directly connect seekers with a local Seventh-day Adventist Church.

Hybrid Evangelism is a value-added component to traditional evangelism by merging the enduring strength of face-to-face ministry with the expansive potential of digital platforms. The objective is to blend a high-touch and high-tech approach to evangelism and connect with persons, build an online relationship through prayer, and invite them to join a local fellowship where in-person evangelistic meetings are being conducted.

Integration in Mission

World Church Platforms

is premised on the idea of using economies of scale and shared investments by church entities. By investing together in platforms for global use, Church entities can receive the benefit while not paying the exorbitant cost if they were to do so on their own. World Divisions have embraced this initiative and have contributed the intellectual property for key platforms developed in their territory so it can be made available for the entire world. Each platform within this initiative is a vital thread in the fabric of ministry support.

Treasury and Stewardship Partnership

Treasury and Stewardship are working together to enhance the faithfulness and engagement of members in supporting God’s mission. A partnership document was developed based on the conviction that all are created and redeemed as stewards of God, and that stewardship must be expressed through a God-first lifestyle. The partnership document outlines five key points:

  1. We believe stewardship is about faith-raising, not fund-raising.

  2. We value the trust and confidence of church members.

  3. We believe stewardship principles guide every aspect of daily living.

  4. We expect church members to grow in a trusting relationship with God. 5. We believe stewardship is for everyone, everywhere.

Involvement in Mission

The global treasury team wholeheartedly embraces the commitment of Mobilizing Resources for Mission. Equal to that commitment is Mobilizing Ourselves for Mission. As a global treasury team, we count it a privilege to carry out the necessary technical functions of mobilizing resources for mission. However, we feel compelled to engage ourselves in evangelistic campaigns where people can hear the gospel in words and on mission trips where people can see the gospel in action. We join with all those who have been called to this great work, for we are not ashamed to preach “this gospel of the kingdom… in all the world as a witness to all the nations; and then the end will come” (Matt. 24:14).
